Loaned Executive Training for 2016 Campaign a Success

Each year, UWSWA brings together a broad cross-section of emerging leaders from a diverse range of businesses in the community for an annual Loaned Executive Training opportunity. This past month, Loaned Executives from various local businesses participated in our annual three-day Loaned Executive Training.

The Loaned Executive (LE) position is designed to empower and motivate up-and-coming employees and impart leadership skills through information exchange, dialogue, and hands-on experiences. Ultimately, this program prepares participants to improve our community’s chances for success.

“UWSWA depends on our LEs to help supplement our Resource Development team during the campaign,” said UWSWA President & CEO Clifford Grimes. “They are a valuable extension of our campaign staff and help us implement many company campaigns. We wouldn’t be able to reach a high number of companies without their help. They, in return, get the opportunity to network with leadership from several local companies.”

As part of their training, the LEs spent a day touring several UWSWA Partner Agencies, including Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast, Mulherin Custodial Home, Home of Grace for Women, and St. Mary’s Home.

Making Choices

The LEs began training with a poverty simulation that required them to invest their resources for a month.
