A Day in the Life of Resource Development

These days, we are all so BUSY, but what are we actually busy doing. In this fast paced world, it is easy to be bogged down in tasks that do not necessarily help us progress towards a greater goal. So many things seem more important than making a difference. As a member of the resource development team, my day to day is no different.

“United We Succeed.”

This statement serves as the motivating mantra for the United Way of Southwest Alabama’s (UWSWA) 2023 Community Campaign. It’s a simple mantra, but in my opinion, it perfectly sums up what it will take to reach the 2023 Campaign Goal of $3,150,000. Additionally, it sums up the truth at the heart of UWSWA’s mission, vision, and day-to-day operational function. Ours is a mission to improve the community where we live, work, and play! And it takes many heads, hands, and hearts to make this happen.

During the Annual Meeting on August 29, the United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) will celebrate the spirit of service and dedication that makes Washington County shine. With a population of 15,122, our community has always been known for its tight-knit bonds and willingness to support one another. In 2022, the UWSWA was able to provide essential funding amounting to $96,000 to 19 agencies in our county. These funds have made a significant impact by touching the lives of 11,104 individuals, showing the power of collective efforts in bringing positive change to our community.
