February 11 is National 2-1-1 Day
Today, February 11 (2/11), is National 2-1-1 Day and Alabama Governor Bentley has proclaimed it 2-1-1 Day within the state of Alabama as well!
Each year, 2-1-1 resource centers around the country celebrate this day and aim to raise awareness about the importance of the service.
United Way’s 2-1-1 is a helpline available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that provides direct access to FREE and confidential referrals to community services near you.
Through a partnership with Lifelines Counseling Services, trained and caring operators answer questions and provide referrals to individuals seeking assistance.
In 2014, United way 2-1-1 continued to serve our communities by answering 8,543 calls and providing more than 12,000 referrals.
