Congratulations to 40 Under 40 Honorees

United Way of Southwest Alabama is proud to announce that several individuals involved with UWSWA were selected as Mobile Bay Magazine’s 40 Under 40 for 2015!

Mobile Bay Magazine’s 40 Under Forty is a program designed to recognize 40 of the top individuals younger than age 40 who demonstrate leadership, professional excellence and a commitment to the Bay area community.

We would like to congratulate the following individuals:

  • Kate Carver, Executive Director of Dumas Wesley Community Center, a UWSWA Partner
  • John Mims, a member of UWSWA’s Mobile County Committee
  • Anne Laurie McClurkin, Co-Chair of UWSWA’s Emerging Leaders
  • Danisha Maye, a UWSWA Community Impact Volunteer
  • Marina Simpson, Executive Director of United Way of Baldwin County

“These individuals embody the spirit of United Way, of what it means to LIVE UNITED,” says UWSWA President and CEO Cliff Grimes. “These individuals are from all walks of life, from all parts of our community, yet they share the common aspiration to create opportunities for a better life for everyone in the community. It is a privilege to work with these individuals who donate their time as volunteers, their voice as advocates, and their resources as donors. Their extraordinary actions support the social fabric that ties our community together and create lasting change and are the reason they are so deserving of this bestowed honor.”
