Randy Bumpers Joins the United Way as the 2020 Loaned Executive

United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) announced today that Randy Bumpers will be their 2020 Loaned Executive. While Randy is with UWSWA, he will work with the Community Impact team, the Resource Development team, and Marketing.

“I am very excited about joining the team at United Way Southwest Alabama,” Randy said. “My passion is connecting people to resources and giving them access that ultimately bridges gaps and fulfill the needs community.”

Coronavirus Update: Safer At Home II

05.21.2020 – Governor Kay Ivey on Thursday issued an amended Safer at Home Order to be applied Statewide. The order which includes an expanded list of items to reopen will be effective Friday, May 22, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. and will expire on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

United Way Day of Caring Goes Virtual in 2020

United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) is launching its first Virtual Day of Caring. Originally scheduled for April 23, we elected to change our traditional Day of Caring into a virtual volunteer day so that partner agencies and area companies could still participate. Sixteen companies have taken on projects that UWSWA partner agencies requested.

United Way Distributes Face Masks Donated by Airbus to 45 Area Agencies

On Monday, May 18, United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) received a generous donation of 10,000 face masks from Airbus. The masks were made available to community non-profits in Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington Counties. .
