Summary

Develop, retain and significantly grow the level of financial support and commitment to United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA). Maintain and continuously develop relationships with key constituents at various levels within assigned company and individual accounts. Identify viable opportunities for additional involvement with UWSWA. Work closely with these constituents to plan, organize and implement campaign and other United Way activities to ensure a successful, stronger and sustained United Way commitment. Aggressively identify, recruit and develop new business prospects to ensure continued campaign growth.

Beginning on the first day of National Diaper Need Awareness Week United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) Women United will kick off their 4th Annual Diaper Drive at partner agency Dumas Wesley Community Center (111 Mobile Street, 36607) at 8:15AM. Women United committee members and benefitting agencies will speak about the vast need for diapers & incontinent products for families with children and the homeless population especially homeless women.

Southeastern chain Shoe Station will launch its “Every Step. Every Community” initiative on September 20, 2019 in its 21 stores in five states. This year-long program will include at $10,000 charitable donation, as well as collection bins in each location, where consumers can donate new and gently used shoes to United Way organizations in their communities. Consumers will also have an opportunity to register to win a $10,000 cash prize.

Partnership with FamilyWize delivers significant savings on prescription medications through its free, easy to use prescription discount card

United Way of Southwest Alabama today announced that 55,675 Southwest Alabama residents have saved $5,000,000 on their prescription medications, thanks to its partnership with FamilyWize, an organization focused on improving the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities.

United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) announced Justine Herlihy as the new Vice President of Resource Development.  She will utilize her background in Development to build key partnerships to strengthen the communities we serve in Clarke, Choctaw, Mobile and Washington Counties. Her proficiency in revenue generation, strategic planning and civic engagement will allow her to flourish in this position and mobilize resources that are the foundation for a better life.
