United Way to Hold 25th Annual Day of Caring on May 3, 2019

(Mobile, AL)

On Friday, May 3, 2019, United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) will hold its Twenty-Fifth Annual Day of Caring, one of the region’s largest single-day of volunteerism.

Last year, 390 employees from local companies volunteered more than 1,800 hours improving their community, equating to an economic impact of $45,000 in just one day of service.

Day of Caring volunteers see first-hand how their support makes a difference as they paint and make repairs, plant trees and ready gardens for planting, sort food donations, and help our agencies complete projects they do not have the time or resources to do throughout the year. Volunteers are also given the opportunity to hear the stories of those whose lives have been impacted as a result of the programs funded by United Way.

For a complete list of activities, please see the Day of Caring Addendum. To schedule an interview with UWSWA President & CEO Jill Chenoweth at one of these locations, please contact the United Way office at 251-433-3624 or email Leslie Schraeder at lschraeder@uwswa.org.
