DESCRIPTION:Verizon and United Way are hosting the first in a series of Disaster Resilience Workshops on Tuesday\, June 25\, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Citronelle Community Center (18260 Municipal Park Drive\, 36522). This free\, public event is to help individuals and families be better prepared for emergencies\, especially when it comes to being financially protected and properly insured before a disaster strikes. We will also cover other key tips for staying prepared and keeping your household safe. \nThe Citronelle workshop will feature speakers and community leaders focused on emergency readiness and financial protection: \nPatsy Hughes\, Consumer Outreach\, Education\, and Recruiting Coordinator with the Alabama Department of Insurance \nTravis Taylor\, Director of the Office of Risk and Resilience with Alabama Department of Insurance \nBeth Thomas\, External Affairs Manager with Alabama Power \nMike Dillaber\, Plans and Operations Manager\, Mobile County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) \nCole Lucky\, IT and Communications Officer\, Mobile County EMA \nMayor Jason Stringer\, City of Citronelle \nRegistration is required. The first 75 individuals to register will receive a free disaster kit and be entered to win a generator that can be incredibly useful during times of disaster.
