2021 Staff Spotlight – Katherine Pitman
Katherine Pitman, Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator, has been with United Way since 2017. She enjoys her job because it gives her an opportunity to have direct, positive effects on people.
Katherine’s favorite causes are general + financial education and literacy, “because I think the ability to read opens up so many more
doors for individuals to care for themselves or ask for the help that they need,” she said. She is excited for all of the upcoming projects at United Way, “but I’m especially excited to meet our fundraising goals,” she said.
Katherine and her husband recently had a great vacation retreat in North Carolina. She has also visited southern France with her two children, where they enjoyed mingling with the locals. “We rented a car for a few days and I enjoyed going to the non-touristy places,” she said. “We got to experience France’s World Cup win in Aix with the community.”
Outside of the office, Katherine enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and their dog, Margaux. She also loves traveling to see her children.
