2021 Intern Spotlight – Myles Cook

The United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) welcomed Myles Cook as a Spring 2021 intern. Myles attends Spring Hill College, majoring in Financial Economics.

Myles chose to become an intern at UWSWA because it would give him the ability to offer his time to the community which is a very important aspect of his life.

While with UWSWA’s Resource Development Department, Myles has assisted the team with research and prospecting potential legal partnerships. Myles aspires to be an attorney so we tailored his service with us to meet his career goals.

After Myles graduates, he plans to attend law school so that he can practice law. According to Myles, the best way to improve the quality of life in the community is to get involved and to advocate for it. He believes it takes action to make change.

Myles’s favorite family tradition is their Thanksgiving cooking competition. Each of Myles family members prepare a dish to attempt to the be the best of the holiday. When he is not doing school work, you will find Myles running or training for the Cross County and Track season.
