Coronavirus: Volunteer Connect Initiatives

As social distancing policies continue to be in place, many individuals are looking for ways they can help those in need. Several companies unable to open but continue to retain staff are also looking to get involved in the community. United Way Volunteer Connect is an excellent way for community volunteers (individuals or teams) to connect with area agencies with growing needs due to the growing demands on their resources through Coronavirus Volunteer Initiative and the Coronavirus Donation Initiative

Volunteer Connect – Individuals and Teams

All potential volunteers will need to have, or create, an account to access any opportunities available. It is free and easy to set up an account with just your name and an email address. Once volunteers have accounts, teams can be created for companies to volunteer or to sign up for a project together.

CORONAVIRUS VOLUNTEER INITIATIVE

Through ongoing community conversations with our partner agencies and other area agencies, there are volunteers needs that have developed specifically in response to the circumstances surrounding Coronavirus and some of the existing needs have become more urgent or require increased volunteer support as a result of Coronavirus. The Coronavirus Volunteer Initiative provides opportunities to volunteer virtually or on-site.

CORONAVIRUS DONATION INITIATIVE

As those conversations continue with our partner agencies and other area agencies, we discovered that many agencies have goods they need in order to do their work. UWSWA has created a Coronavirus Donations Initiative in Volunteer Connect to help connect the community with those agencies that need in-kind donations and to collect those needed items.
