Sierra Myers

Meet Sierra Myers, our new Manager of Regional Development – County Relations at United Way of Southwest Alabama. Sierra joined us on June 24th, bringing a deep passion for community impact. Before joining UWSWA, Sierra gained valuable experience as a communications intern at Clarke-Washington EMC, which was essential for her to graduate with a public relations degree from Auburn University. She has also volunteered as a social media manager for the Southwest Alabama Wildlife Federation.

In her new role at UWSWA, Sierra’s primary responsibilities include resource development and community outreach across Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington Counties. She oversees regional workplace giving campaigns, acts as the primary point of contact with coordinators, fosters relationships with donors and volunteers, obtains additional funding, handles donor tracking, and represents United Way at various community events.

Sierra is inspired by the mission of United Way because it directly contributes to enhancing and improving the quality of life in southwest Alabama, making a tangible difference in people’s lives. Her commitment to community, integrity, and compassion, grounded in her Christian values, drives her work here.

To maintain a healthy work-life balance, Sierra skillfully navigates her responsibilities by setting clear boundaries between her professional and personal life, effectively prioritizing her tasks, and dedicating time to rest and for self-care. Outside of work, she’s an avid fitness enthusiast, she treasures quality moments with loved ones, whether it’s vacationing at the beach or whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen. A fun tidbit about Sierra is that she graduated high school in a close-knit class of just 27 students. Her guiding mantra, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” from Isaiah 41:10, keeps her motivated and inspired in all she does.

We are thrilled to have Sierra on our team, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make in our community!
