Keeping you safe

Privacy Policy

Protecting the confidentiality of individually identifying personal information of our supporters has been, and will continue to be, a top priority of United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA).

This policy applies to all information received by UWSWA, both online and offline, on any electronic, written, or oral communications.

DEFINITION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

UWSWA identifies individually identifying personal information as a donor’s name, employer, home address, cell phone number, personal email address, or preferred gift designation building block.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

UWSWA understands that giving is a personal choice. We recognize and protect the privacy of our donors. UWSWA only gathers individually identifying personal information when voluntarily submitted by the donor or the company.

UWSWA does not disclose personal information to third parties nor send mailings to our supporters on behalf of other organizations.

Personal information is used by the company’s payroll administrator (for payroll deductions), UWSWA, or a secure online merchant bank (for credit cards) for the purpose of executing a transaction. All personal donor information is stored on a separate server and protected by a regularly upgraded firewall.

UWSWA may use the voluntarily submitted personal information for internal purposes including communications to make donors aware of the impact of their gift, UWSWA events, monthly newsletters, and other general information relating to UWSWA.

UWSWA will not use individually identifying personal information to further solicit donors via electronic communications.

Donor information was based on UWSWA’s donor records. We apologize for any omissions or inaccuracies. Please contact UWSWA with any corrections at (251) 433-3624
