Verizon and United Way are hosting the fourth in a series of Disaster Resilience Workshops on October 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Semmes Community Center. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. This free, public event is to help individuals and families be better prepared for emergencies, especially when it comes to being financially protected and properly insured before a disaster strikes. We will also cover other key tips for staying prepared and keeping your household safe.
United Way will provide lunch during the event. Registered participants will have a chance to win a generator. To be eligible; they must be present at the time of the drawing. Each registration allows for one entry. Attendees will also receive disaster kits while supplies last.
