Verizon and United Way are hosting the third in a series of Disaster Resilience Workshops on August 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bayou La Batre Community Center (12745 Padgett Switch Road,, 36509). This free, public event is to help individuals and families be better prepared for emergencies, especially when it comes to being financially protected and properly insured before a disaster strikes. We will also cover other key tips for staying prepared and keeping your household safe.
The South Mobile County workshop will feature speakers and community leaders focused on emergency readiness and financial protection. A complete list of speakers and exhibitors will be available soon.
