It’s designed to make community service both accessible and meaningful.
Day of Caring
The United Way of Southwest Alabama’s Day of Caring is a community service initiative where volunteers from local businesses, organizations, and the community come together to engage in various volunteer projects that benefit local nonprofits and the community at large. This event is typically organized by local United Way during Volunteer Appreciation month and is designed to promote teamwork and community engagement.

The event not only helps local agencies complete projects they might not have the manpower or resources to tackle on their own, but it also allows volunteers to see the direct impact of their work in their community. Additionally, it serves as a team-building opportunity, enhancing collaboration and engagement among participants, and fosters a deeper connection with the community by bringing to light the personal stories of individuals whose lives are improved by these efforts.

Engage your team at any time of the year with a custom Individual Day of Caring. The United Way team is here to customize your volunteer experience, whether by pairing you with a preferred partner agency or focusing on a specific demographic of the people our partners serve. We’ll help coordinate the logistics and provide assistance every step of the way.
