Members work together to enhance the visibility and impact of African American philanthropic efforts in the region.
Named after John L. LeFlore, a prominent civil rights leader and community activist in Mobile, the JLL Society honors his legacy. LeFlore dedicated more than five decades of his life to the fight for equality and justice. His unwavering commitment to civil rights and his effective, persistent advocacy left a lasting impact on Alabama and beyond. His life’s work continues to inspire new generations of leaders in the fight for social justice

To become a member, individuals are asked to make an annual contribution of $600 or more. This commitment supports the ongoing efforts of the United Way and ensures the continuation of vital community programs.
