United Way of Southwest Alabama announces a $10,000 contribution from the United Bank Foundation, the charitable foundation of United Bank, to support Hurricane Isaias relief and recovery efforts in Escambia and Monroe Counties, Alabama, and Santa Rosa County, Florida. The United Bank Foundation has designated its gift to the Community Crisis Fund specifically for these three counties, helping direct resources to families and communities recovering from the storm.
Headquartered in Atmore, Alabama, United Bank has served South Alabama and Northwest Florida for more than 120 years. The bank operates 19 branches across the region, including eight in Escambia and Monroe Counties, Alabama, and Santa Rosa County, Florida, where communities suffered devastating damage from Hurricane Isaias.
“We are excited to have United Bank join this recovery effort,” said Justine Bixler, President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Alabama. “What makes this gift especially meaningful is that United Bank is helping the very communities where its employees work and its customers live. These are their neighbors, their friends, and their families who are facing the devastating effects of Hurricane Isaias. We are grateful for their generosity and their commitment to helping these communities recover.”
United Bank and its Foundation join a growing group of businesses, foundations, and individual donors supporting the Community Crisis Fund. These contributions help address immediate needs such as food, essential supplies, and emergency assistance while supporting longer-term recovery efforts as communities assess storm damage and identify additional needs.
The Community Crisis Fund supports Hurricane Isaias relief and recovery across affected counties in Alabama and Northwest Florida. Donors can designate their contributions to a specific eligible county, ensuring their gifts support recovery in the community they choose. United Way of Southwest Alabama distributes contributions designated for eligible counties within its service area and works with local United Ways to direct contributions to communities outside that area.
