The United Way excited to welcome Maggie Hill to the team as our summer Marketing & Communications Intern. A student at The University of Alabama, Maggie is majoring in Public Relations with a double minor in Digital Consumer Engagement and Digital, Public, and Professional Writing. Hailing from the small town of Decatur, Alabama, just outside of Huntsville, Maggie brings a thoughtful, creative perspective to everything she does.

For Maggie, this internship is an opportunity to use her communications skills to support a mission that makes a real difference. She’s excited to expand her PR knowledge, collaborate with professionals in the field, and help tell powerful stories that inspire community change. After graduation, she hopes to work at a public relations firm or become a PR specialist for a large company.

Outside of school and work, Maggie enjoys finding new places to eat, spending time with friends, and going shopping. Her favorite family tradition is baking cookies and watching a Christmas movie with her family every Christmas Eve.

Maggie believes that improving a community starts with ensuring access to strong schools, quality healthcare, and job opportunities. She values teamwork and collaboration, and knows that when a community comes together, everyone benefits. Her favorite quote by Audrey Hepburn reflects that positive mindset: “Nothing is impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m possible!’”
