Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
The Imagination Library by Dolly Parton is a program that gifts free, top-notch books to children aged from birth to five, irrespective of their family’s financial status. This initiative aims to foster a love for reading among preschoolers. Upon registration, a specially chosen book tailored to the child’s age is delivered to their doorstep every month until they turn five.

The Basics Southwest Alabama
The Basics Southwest Alabama encompasses five empirically supported nurturing strategies crucial for children ages 0-5. These practices include:
- Maximize love and manage stress
- Talk, sing and point
- Count, group and compare
- Explore through movement and play
- Read and discuss stories
During this critical development phase between 0 and 5, a child’s brain undergoes rapid growth, with 80% occurring within the first five years. Learning begins at birth, emphasizing the importance of establishing a robust learning foundation. The Basics can be embraced by anyone interacting with children, including parents, caregivers, neighbors, and organizations.
