United Way of Southwest Alabama is excited to welcome Sierra Myers as the new Manager of Regional Development – County Relations. Sierra joined the team on June 24, 2024, and brings a strong commitment to community service.
Sierra’s background includes serving as a communications intern at Clarke-Washington EMC, a crucial experience that helped her graduate with a public relations degree from Auburn University. In addition, she has volunteered as a social media manager for the Southwest Alabama Wildlife Federation, where she honed her skills in community engagement and communications.
In her new role at UWSWA, Sierra’s primary responsibilities include resource development and community outreach across Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington Counties. She oversees regional workplace giving campaigns, acts as the primary point of contact with coordinators, fosters relationships with donors and volunteers, obtains additional funding, handles donor tracking, and represents United Way at various community events.
“What inspires me about the mission is knowing that our efforts directly contribute to enhancing and improving the quality of life in southwest Alabama and the difference it makes in people’s lives,” said Sierra. Her work is driven by her commitment to her community, integrity, and compassion.
Outside of work, Sierra enjoys exercising, spending quality time with loved ones, vacationing at the beach, and cooking.
“Sierra’s enthusiasm, fresh perspective, and commitment make her a valuable addition to our team,” said Justine Bixler, President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Alabama. “We look forward to the positive impact she will make in her role.”
Please join us in welcoming Sierra Myers to the United Way of Southwest Alabama team.
