United Way of Southwest Alabama invites businesses, organizations, and nonprofit agencies to take part in 100 Days of Caring, a major volunteer initiative launching this spring as part of the organization’s centennial celebration. Building on 100 years of service, 100 Days of Caring will mobilize volunteer teams throughout April and culminate in a community wide Day of Caring on May 1.
100 Days of Caring connects volunteer teams, businesses, and community partners to complete hands on projects that strengthen local nonprofit organizations. Projects may include facility improvements, landscaping, cleanups, donation drives, organizing supplies, or skill based support. Teams that cannot participate onsite can still make a difference by hosting workplace collection drives to gather items from agency wish lists. United Way will also work with teams that need flexibility, offering alternate project dates if April and May 1 do not fit their schedules.
United Way coordinates projects, matches teams with agencies, and organizes resources to maximize impact. In celebration of 100 years of service, the organization aims to complete 100 community projects through 100 Days of Caring and beyond.
“100 Days of Caring brings our community together in a powerful way,” said Lindsay Lum, Director of Community Engagement & Agency Relations at United Way of Southwest Alabama. “Every project matters, whether a team serves in the field or hosts a workplace drive. These efforts strengthen our nonprofit partners and help them serve more people in meaningful ways. We encourage every company and group to join us in making an impact.”
Companies that participate gain meaningful opportunities for employee engagement, team building, and visible community impact. Volunteer teams work side by side with local nonprofits and see the results of their efforts firsthand.
United Way encourages businesses and organizations to register volunteer teams and be part of this historic year of service. To register a team, visit https://shorturl.at/XkqWt.
