UWSWA is currently accepting nominations for the 2023 Choctaw, Clark, Mobile, and Washington Counties’ Heart of Gold Volunteer Awards. The Heart of Gold awards aim to honor individuals or organizations, which demonstrate an exceptional commitment to helping, improve the quality of life in Southwest Alabama. To be eligible, the nominee’s volunteer activities must benefit a nonprofit organization within Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, or Washington counties, and the nominee’s service should connect to UWSWA through one of its programs or partner agencies.
The deadline to submit nominations is May 19, 2023. For nominators in Mobile County, visit www.supersaas.com/form/UWSWAPrograms/Heart_of_Gold_2023_Mobile . For nomination in Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington Counties, visit www.supersaas.com/form/UWSWAPrograms/Heart_of_Gold_2023_Counties. UWSWA employees are not eligible to participate as nominators or nominees. Nominees who won the award in the prior year are not eligible for consideration.
Nominators must provide a brief description of their nominee’s volunteer activity in the past year and explain why it was outstanding and deserving of an award. They should also describe how the volunteer activity supports furthering the UWSWA’s mission as well as the nominee’s impact on the community and/or individuals served. Additional information to support the nomination is optional.
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of UWSWA and its 45 partner agencies. UWSWA is proud to recognize local volunteers for their dedication and service in the areas of education, health, financial stability, or essentials.
