United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) will officially launch its 2025 Community Campaign with a high-energy pep rally at the University of South Alabama’s Moulton Tower on Thursday, August 28 at 4:45 p.m. sponsored by Alabama Power, Easy Heating & Cooling, and Harper Technology.

Hosted in partnership with USA, the kickoff event will bring together community leaders, donors, volunteers, and partner agencies to celebrate the start of the annual fundraising campaign. The goal for this year’s campaign is $3 million to invest in programs and services that improve lives in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington Counties.

The event will feature remarks from USA EVP & Provost and UWSWA Board Immediate Past Chair Dr. Andi Kent, UWSWA Board Chair Audra Harper, Campaign Chair Chris Esfeller, and partner agency representative Aimee Risser with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast, as well as a special proclamation presentation by Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson. Performances by the USA Jaguar Marching Band, cheerleaders, and mascots will add to the festive atmosphere.

“This kickoff is more than a celebration. It’s a call to action,” said UWSWA President & CEO Justine Bixler. “United is the Way we bring people together to solve problems, create opportunity, and strengthen our community.”

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet UWSWA’s 49 partner agencies and learn more about how their donations make a difference.
