Golfers and community supporters will once again gather at The Pines in Chatom this spring for a tradition that blends fellowship, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to helping neighbors in need. United Way of Southwest Alabama will host the Washington County Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 6, 2026, inviting residents from across the county to take part in an event that continues to make a meaningful difference close to home.

Now in its fifth year, the tournament has become a valued opportunity for local businesses, civic leaders, and families to come together in support of programs that strengthen the community. Proceeds from the event benefit United Way of Southwest Alabama’s programs and partner agencies serving Washington County, helping expand access to vital services that support children, seniors, working families, and individuals facing unexpected challenges.

Teams will compete in a three person scramble format with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m., giving participants time to connect with fellow players and prepare for a morning on the course. Play will conclude with a 19th Hole gathering that celebrates both the spirit of the game and the shared goal of improving quality of life throughout the county.

Local supporters say the event reflects the strong sense of community pride that defines Washington County. Each year, participation from area employers, small businesses, and individual donors helps United Way continue working alongside nonprofit partners to provide resources that promote long-term stability and opportunity.

Golfer registration is $100 per player. Due to limited availability, participants are encouraged to reserve golf carts in advance or plan to bring their own. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations that wish to support the tournament while increasing their visibility and engagement in the community.
