Meet Ashton Willis, a University of South Alabama student majoring in advertising with a minor in studio art. Through his internship with United Way of Southwest Alabama, Ashton is gaining hands-on experience while following his passion for community involvement and creative storytelling. Inspired by his grandmother’s work with Dumas Wesley, Ashton is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference and continue her legacy of service.

A Mobile native who previously lived in Jackson, Mississippi, Ashton has been involved in volunteer efforts through student organizations and founded a youth outreach program for a local middle school while attending Jackson State University. His dedication to service reflects his belief that communities improve when people listen to residents’ needs and take action to address them.

After college, Ashton plans to work as a freelance graphic designer, partnering with businesses and advertising agencies to help bring their ideas to life. Outside of academics, he enjoys working on student organization projects, going to the gym, listening to music, and spending time relaxing at home.
