
United Way of Southwest Alabama is proud to highlight Erin Delaporte, Mobile Division Area Manager for Alabama Power Company and a member of United Way of Southwest Alabama’s Board of Trustees.
With a career focused on External Affairs and Community Relations, Erin brings valuable experience in community engagement, collaboration, and strategic partnerships. A longtime resident of Mobile, Erin has a deep appreciation for the people, organizations, and leaders working together to strengthen Southwest Alabama.
Erin’s commitment to United Way of Southwest Alabama is rooted in her belief that improving the quality of life in our community requires people coming together to address challenges and create opportunities. She believes her values align closely with United Way’s mission and is passionate about using her time, talents, and resources to help build stronger communities.
“Leadership means setting goals and motivating others to work together toward achieving those goals,” Erin shared. “Strong leaders recognize the strengths of each teammate, ensure contributions are valued, and remain focused on the organization’s mission.”
Erin is a graduate of Auburn University, where she earned a degree in Finance, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Throughout her career, she has seen the importance of bringing community stakeholders together, aligning resources, and working collaboratively to create meaningful impact.
Outside of her professional and community involvement, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, running with friends, biking, playing tennis, and caring for her two dogs. She is married to Chris Delaporte and is the mother of Nelson, who attends St. Ignatius Catholic School, and stepmother to Will and Owen.
Family is especially meaningful to Erin, and one of her favorite traditions is celebrating Christmas with her extended family. With a large family background, she cherishes gatherings filled with food, music, talent shows, and special moments that bring loved ones together.
As a member of St. Ignatius Parish, Erin remains committed to serving others and strengthening the community around her. Her vision for Southwest Alabama is one where community leaders unite, resources are aligned, and individuals and families have opportunities to thrive.
