United Way Names Justine Herlihy Bixler as President & CEO

The United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the promotion of Justine Herlihy Bixler to the position of President/CEO. This significant milestone reflects the Board’s confidence in her leadership abilities and her outstanding contributions to the organization.

In a statement regarding this appointment, Mahesh Batavia, Chair of the UWSWA Board of Trustees, remarked, “The United Way of Southwest Alabama Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Justine Bixler has been promoted to President/CEO. Justine’s dedication and exemplary service to UWSWA over the past four years as the Vice President of Resource Development and most recently serving as Interim President & CEO have been instrumental in shaping the organization’s future. She has laid the groundwork for our future financial success by increasing strategic partnerships, strengthening existing relationships, and connecting new corporate donors to their path of giving back through United Way.”

During her tenure as Vice President of Resource Development, Justine Bixler’s tireless efforts have not only secured vital resources for the organization but have also paved the way for transformative change. Her dedication to fostering collaboration and philanthropy has been a driving force behind UWSWA’s ability to fulfill its mission.

In her new role as President/CEO, Bixler will continue to lead the charge in fund development while providing unwavering support to the Board of Trustees and staff as they embark on the implementation of a strategic plan that charts a course for future successes of the organization. Her leadership will be instrumental in advancing United Way’s mission to improve the lives of residents across Southwest Alabama.

Reflecting on her promotion, Justine expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to serve as President/CEO of United Way of Southwest Alabama.
