Board of Trustee Spotlight – Michi Lunceford
We are thrilled to introduce Michi Lunceford, the Chief Financial and Operations Officer at the Mobile Chamber, currently serving as a new dedicated member of the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA). With a primary focus on providing precise financial information to the Mobile Chamber’s management and Board of Directors, Michi brings a wealth of experience gained from her previous roles as the CFO of a United Way agency and the CFO of United Way of Southwest Alabama. Having witnessed firsthand the needs of the most vulnerable in the community, Michi is honored to continue her support of UWSWA and contribute to the betterment of the community.
Michi emphasizes a collaborative approach to leadership, viewing it as a process of setting goals and working together as a team to achieve them. She recognizes and values the unique strengths of each team member, actively supporting them in their endeavors. Beyond her professional endeavors, Michi shares a fulfilling personal life, having been married to Chandler Lunceford for twenty-four years and raising two sons, Bright and Graham. The Lunceford family, including their two chocolate labs, Annie and Lucy, enjoys weekends on Dauphin Island, engaging in activities such as boating, fishing, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Michi’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of West Alabama and a Master’s of Accounting from the University of Alabama. As a Certified Public Accountant, she brings a high level of expertise to her financial role. In her leisure time, Michi finds joy in reading, walks on the beach, and cherishing moments with loved ones. With a vision for Southwest Alabama, particularly Mobile, Michi aspires for it to be a place where people love to live, work, and play, ensuring a good quality of life for all. Her positive influence and commitment to creating positive change make Michi Lunceford an invaluable asset to the UWSWA Board of Trustees and the community at large.
