“The United Way of Southwest Alabama Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Justine Bixler has been promoted to Interim President/CEO” said Robert Matthews, Board of Trustees Chair of United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA).
“Mrs. Bixler was selected due to her sincere belief in the United Way’s mission and the reliable, positive results arising from her tireless dedication to our community. In addition, Mrs. Bixler consistently exhibits the required leadership skills and temperament necessary to effectively lead the United Way’s devoted staff.”
Bixler has served the organization for 4 years as the Vice President of Resource Development. During this time, she laid the groundwork for future financial success of the organization by increasing strategic partnerships, strengthening existing relationships and connecting new corporate donors to their path of giving back through United Way.
“We are grateful for Justine’s commitment to serve as Interim President/CEO. Her experience in non-profit management, community engagement and strategic planning will further our ability to reach the organizations greatest potential while meeting the expectations of our stakeholders and beneficiaries,” said Mahesh Batavia, Board of Trustees Vice Chair.
Bixler will continue to be responsible for fund development while supporting the board and staff as we implement our strategic plan and forward path focused on future successes of the organization.
“It has been an honor to serve in the Vice President position for four years and I am excited about our future as we continue to build resilient communities across Mobile, Clarke, Choctaw, and Washington Counties. Over 211,000 people rely on our successes annually and we are grateful to work with a community of corporate partners who value investing in the place we call home,” said Justine.
The Board of Directors would like to thank the officers and staff for their hard work and dedication to promoting the United Way of Southwest Alabama’s mission and to our partner agencies for consistently providing vital health and human services to our residents across Southwest Alabama. We are optimistic about our future and are grateful for the support of each individual and business that make an impact where we live.
