A large community food distribution will take place on Wednesday, November 19 at Ladd Peebles Stadium to serve up to two thousand households across Mobile and the surrounding area. Gates will open at 7 a.m. for vehicles to queue on-site, and food distribution will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until all boxes are distributed. We ask that no one arrive to line up before 7 a.m.
This major community event, organized through a partnership led by Feeding the Gulf Coast and United Way of Southwest Alabama, along with the City of Mobile, the Mobile Police Department, Mobile County Public Schools, Alabama Power, Rock N Roll Offs, Coca Cola, and Moe’s BBQ. Together, these partners are coordinating one of the largest food distributions ever held in the region.
The event will feature multiple distribution stations stocked with shelf-stable food and fresh produce. Vehicles will enter from Virginia Street and move through a structured traffic pattern supported by volunteers and law enforcement. Station teams will load food based on the number of households represented in each car. Each household must provide a valid Alabama ID or Driver’s License.
“This distribution reflects the strength of our community and the power of working together,” said Justine Bixler, President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Alabama. “Families are facing real challenges, and this partnership ensures our neighbors receive the support they need.”
Volunteers are still needed, and multiple shifts are available throughout the day. Community members who wish to serve can sign up at:

Organizers encourage participants to follow traffic directions, remain in their vehicles during the process, and plan for a high-volume event with steady movement throughout the day.
“This is a true community effort from start to finish,” said Leslie Schraeder, Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications for United Way of Southwest Alabama. “We are proud to stand alongside these partners to support families across Mobile.”
