We are excited to shine the spotlight on another talented UWSWA intern, Caroline Kercher, a student at the University of Alabama with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Communication Studies. As an intern in the Marketing & Communications department, Caroline has been instrumental in helping us spread awareness about our initiatives and impact in the community.
For Caroline, this opportunity means much more than just gaining professional experience. It has been a transformative learning experience that has equipped her with valuable skills and knowledge that she plans to carry with her into her future career in public relations. She has been able to apply the theories and concepts she has learned in her classes to real-world situations, giving her a practical understanding of the field.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Caroline has always had a passion for volunteering. Even in high school, she actively sought out opportunities to make a difference in her community. Whether it was participating in coastal cleanups, helping out at Little Sisters of the Poor, or volunteering at Vacation Bible School, she consistently dedicated her time to meaningful causes. During her time in college, she continued her philanthropic endeavors by volunteering at UWSWA partner agency Ronald McDonald House Charities and contributing to various fundraisers. Her dedication to service aligns perfectly with UWSWA’s mission to improve the quality of life in our community.
When she’s not busy with her studies or volunteering, you can find Caroline engrossed in a good book or spending quality time with her beloved dogs. These activities provide her with the balance and relaxation she needs to excel in her academic and professional pursuits. Family traditions hold a special place in Caroline’s heart, and her favorite one involves going on a Sunday boat ride at Dauphin Island. This tradition allows her to create lasting memories and cherish the time spent with her loved ones.
Caroline firmly believes that the key to improving the quality of life in a community is by creating an environment where everyone can thrive. She understands that this can be achieved through various means, such as donating to local agencies, actively volunteering, or rallying a group of people to come together and support a neighbor in need. Her commitment to community development aligns perfectly with the values of UWSWA.
We are grateful to have Caroline as part of our team at UWSWA. Her enthusiasm, combined with her academic background and commitment to service, makes her a valuable asset to our organization. We are confident that she will go on to achieve great things in her future endeavors and make a positive impact on the world of public relations.
