United Way of Southwest Alabama is proud to highlight Brett Allred, Public Affairs, Government Affairs & Communication Manager for Georgia-Pacific and a dedicated member of the Choctaw County Committee.

Brett brings extensive experience in public affairs, government relations, community engagement, and strategic communications through his role with Georgia-Pacific. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Dallas.

Brett’s involvement with United Way of Southwest Alabama is driven by his desire to help create meaningful improvements in the areas of education, financial stability, and community health. Through his service on the Choctaw County Committee, Brett helps connect people, resources, and opportunities to strengthen the communities United Way serves.

For Brett, leadership means taking responsibility for outcomes while empowering others to succeed through trust, clarity, and follow-through. He believes effective leaders listen first, make thoughtful decisions, and remain committed to serving a greater mission, especially when facing challenges.

Outside of his professional and community commitments, Brett enjoys golfing, following sports, investing, and spending time with friends. He also honors the memory of his late son, Riley, and remains grounded in his faith as a member of the Catholic community.

Brett’s vision for Southwest Alabama is centered on creating a community that is stronger and better tomorrow than it is today. Through his continued service and leadership, Brett is helping advance United Way of Southwest Alabama’s mission to improve the quality of life throughout our region.
