United Way of Southwest Alabama invites businesses, civic groups, and organizations to take part in the 32nd Annual Day of Caring as the organization celebrates 100 years of impact in Southwest Alabama.
In honor of its centennial year, Day of Caring 2026 will expand into a month-long celebration of service throughout April in recognition of Volunteer Appreciation Month, culminating in a community-wide Day of Caring on May 1. United Way plans to complete 100 community projects as part of the centennial celebration, reflecting a century of neighbors helping neighbors.
Day of Caring connects volunteer teams with local nonprofit partner agencies to complete meaningful, hands-on projects. Teams may paint, landscape, organize donations, complete facility improvements, assist with cleanups, or host collection drives for items identified on agency wish lists. These projects address essential needs that agencies often lack the time or resources to complete on their own while delivering immediate, visible impact and strengthening services across Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington counties.
Companies that participate gain more than a day of service. Teams build stronger connections, boost morale, and demonstrate a clear commitment to the community. Employees experience the impact of their work firsthand, and organizations show leadership by investing time and talent where it matters most.
United Way encourages companies and organizations to secure their spot and be part of this historic year of service. Visit https://shorturl.at/XkqWt to register your company or organization team today. Please complete the form in full so United Way can make the best possible project match for your team.
As United Way enters its second century of service, Day of Caring 2026 offers a powerful opportunity to honor the past and take action for the future. United is the Way we continue to build stronger communities.
