United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) will host the 2025 Mobile County Awards Reception on Tuesday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Via Health, Fitness & Enrichment Center, located at 1717 Dauphin Street in Mobile. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. This annual reception will recognize remarkable individuals and organizations who are making a lasting difference across Mobile County and throughout Southwest Alabama.

The evening will include the presentation of awards honoring community partners, philanthropists, volunteers, and leaders who help United Way fulfill its mission of improving lives and strengthening communities.

“This event gives us a meaningful opportunity to pause and celebrate the people and organizations who are creating lasting change,” said Justine Bixler, President and CEO of UWSWA. “Their dedication drives our mission forward every day. It reminds us that United Is The Way™ the way we build stronger, more resilient communities across Southwest Alabama.”

  • Outstanding Campaign Award: World Omni Finance
  • Outstanding Campaign Coordinator Award: Garrett Powe, ServisFirst
  • Outstanding Community Partner: Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS)

REGIONAL COUNTY AWARDS:

  • Outstanding New Partner: QuikTrip
  • Outstanding Board Service: Kandace Breeland, Publix
  • Affinity Group Member of the Year: Samuel Feibelman, Jr., Trustmark
  • W.O. Mozingo Community Service Award: Jay Schuelly, Business Representative, Local 318, Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council
  • Outstanding Partner Agency: USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital
