United Way of Southwest Alabama will host its inaugural Clay Shoot on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Soggy Bottom Lodge in Linden. The fundraiser will bring together businesses, community partners, and sporting clay enthusiasts for a day of competition while raising funds to support communities across Southwest Alabama.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the shoot begins at 9:30 a.m. Soggy Bottom Lodge offers a 15-station sporting clay course designed to simulate a variety of hunting scenarios. The tournament will feature four person teams, prizes for the Top Shooter and Best Team, and door prizes. Registration includes sporting clays, breakfast, lunch, and a door prize ticket.

“This event gives us a new way to bring people together from across our service area while supporting the communities we serve,” said Sierra Skipper United Way Manager of Regional Development & Agency Relations. “Whether someone joins us as a shooter, sponsor, or supporter, their participation helps United Way continue investing in local programs that make a difference for our neighbors.”

Teams and sponsors may designate their registration or sponsorship support to Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, or Washington County. United Way will direct designated funds to programs and partner agencies serving the selected county.

United Way offers several sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations, including Grand Champion, Sharpshooter, Range, Trail, and Clay Shoot Supporter levels. Sponsorships beginning at the Trail level include at least one four-person team, giving businesses an opportunity to support the fundraiser while participating in the tournament. Individual shooters may register for $300, and United Way will place individual registrants on a team.

Soggy Bottom Lodge, located in Linden, hosts outdoor sporting experiences, corporate retreats, and group events. Its sporting clay course includes 15 stations across the property.
