United Way of Southwest Alabama proudly welcomes Mickie Grant as the organization’s new Operations Coordinator.

A graduate of Ben C. Rain High School, Mickie brings more than 35 years of experience supporting the grocery, deli, and bakery industry. Her career has included sales growth, retail partnerships, team development, and operational leadership. Throughout her career, she has built strong partnerships, coordinated food shows and events, developed teams, and implemented strategies that support operational efficiency, profitability, and business growth.

Before joining United Way of Southwest Alabama, Mickie served in leadership and development roles with Associated Wholesale Grocers and most recently as Deli Director for By Chance Markets and Investments, where she oversaw deli and bakery operations across seven locations.

In her role as Operations Coordinator, Mickie will support day-to-day operations, coordinate events and meetings, manage office and facilities needs, and help keep the organization running smoothly across Southwest Alabama. Her experience in operations, team leadership, and event coordination will support the organization’s continued growth and success.

A lifelong Mobile resident, Mickie is passionate about giving back to the community she calls home. Joining United Way of Southwest Alabama gives her the opportunity to support an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout the community.

Outside of work, Mickie enjoys spending time with family and friends, making memories with her grandson, boating, and relaxing at the beach.
