We are thrilled to introduce Michi Lunceford, the Chief Financial and Operations Officer at the Mobile Chamber, currently serving as a new dedicated member of the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA). With a primary focus on providing precise financial information to the Mobile Chamber’s management and Board of Directors, Michi brings a wealth of experience gained from her previous roles as the CFO of a United Way agency and the CFO of United Way of Southwest Alabama. Having witnessed firsthand the needs of the most vulnerable in the community, Michi is honored to continue her support of UWSWA and contribute to the betterment of the community.

Austal USA’s 13th annual Charity Golf Invitational will take place on March 15, 2024, at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile.  Through this annual event, Austal USA and the many invitational participants have raised over $2.4 million for long-time event partner United Way of Southwest Alabama and other local charities within the last decade.  The charity invitational is one of the many ways Austal USA gives back to the community who’s enduring support has resulted in our success as a major defense contractor.

Delena Wylie stands as a cornerstone of commitment at the United Way of Southwest Alabama, dedicating 26 impactful years to our organization. Her initial attraction to the United Way was sparked by its profound mission—to uplift and enhance the future of our city. As a Resource Development Associate, Delena’s pivotal role involves meticulously recording and ensuring the accuracy of donor and volunteer information, a task she handles with unparalleled precision and dedication.

As a dedicated professional, Easton Lambert brings a wealth of experience and commitment to the United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) as a valuable member of the Board of Trustees. Currently serving as the Business Manager of the International Union Painters and Allied Trades District Council 77 (IUPAT DC 77) and President of the Southwest Alabama Labor Council (SWALC), Lambert embodies a passion for community welfare and a drive to effect positive change.

Join us in celebrating Dr. Deborah Curry, the dedicated Program Manager for The Basics Southwest Alabama at the United Way of Southwest Alabama. Dr. Curry brings over a year of fervent commitment to uplifting children and families in our community. Her passion for effecting positive change drew her to the United Way, where she saw an opportunity to alter the trajectory of lives within our community.

Introducing George B. Talbot, III, the newest addition to the distinguished Board of Trustees at the United Way of Southwest Alabama. George, Vice President of External Affairs at Volkert, joins the board driven by his deep admiration for United Way’s longstanding impact in Mobile and unwavering support for its mission to transform and save lives within the community. For George, leadership embodies the ethos of giving more than receiving, a principle that guides his commitment to serving beyond professional realms.
