UWSWA Announces Kimberly D. Bell as a New Manager of Donor Relations

United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) announced Kimberly D. Bell as a new Manager of Donor Relations. She will work out of our downtown Mobile location. Kimberly was born and reared in Mobile and graduated from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University with a B.S. in Secondary English Education. She was a dedicated educator for 13 years in the Mobile County Public School System. She decided to enter the nonprofit sector by a desire to have a greater impact on social issues in our community. Her experiences have equipped her with the tools to effect change on a broader scale through her new appointment to UWSWA.

As a native and life-long resident of Mobile, Kimberly sees the need to advance the common good through changing the social issues and systems that affect us all. She believe that strong neighborhoods and communities can be achieved by working together. According to Kimberly, “It is up to us to give, advocate, or volunteer, so that we can be a part of the lasting change.” She is excited to help orchestrate the change that she wants to see in our community and the world. When thinking about life, Kimberly remembers the words of the great Abolitionist Harriet Tubman. Tubman said, “Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”

Some of Kimberly’s interests are gardening, reading, volunteering in the community, and year-round celebrating of Mardi Gras! She is also a mother of two teenagers and a New Orleans Saints fan. Go Saints!
