2021 Staff Spotlight – Sara Knox
Financial Assistant Sara Knox has been with United Way of Southwest Alabama for two years. “The opportunity arose and I was eager to take it,” she said. “I’ve always admired what United Way does, so I was excited to join the amazing team here.”
Sara’s favorite causes are “anything that has to do with children,” she said. “I’ve always had a passion for helping children in need, whether it be abuse, neglect, or lack of financial resources.”
The upcoming project she’s most excited about is Project Playground. She is glad that United Way and Fox10 are going to provide a place in the Walsh Park community where kids can go to have fun and make friends.
Her favorite vacation was a trip to Chicago three years ago, to visit her husband’s family. In addition to meeting family members for the first time, she enjoyed going downtown to shop and visiting the Sears Tower.
When she’s not working, Sara is busy with her four children. She also enjoys swimming. “I love being around the water,” she said. Something you may not know about Sara: She lived and worked in Las Vegas for a year!
