United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) welcome new staffers Chanteal Black and Buffy Caine to the team at the Clarke County Outreach Center.  Chanteal and Buffy are servings as Covid-19 Program Coordinators.

Chanteal Black

I live in the wonderful town of Jackson Alabama. I graduated from Jackson High School with Honors in May of 2016. Then I went on to Coastal Alabama Community College in Thomasville and graduated with Honors in May of 2021. I have two wonderful parents Penny and Johnny Black without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I am a big sister to two (Zoey and Lacey) and a little sister to one (Chanalea). In my spare time I enjoy reading and listening to music. Also, I am an Auburn Tigers fan. GO AUBURN!!!!

Buffy Caine

I was raised by my wonderful parents with strong Christian values. I grew up a Baptist Preacher’s kid. No we really aren’t the worst kids like people seem to think. I am a 1991 graduate of Marengo Academy in Linden, AL. I attended Wallace Community College in Selma, Al. on a Softball Scholarship. I have been married for 30 years to the love of my life. We have an almost 23 year old son and an almost 16 year old daughter who are our pride and joy. Growing up my mom always did elderly care whether in the nursing home or private care in homes. I always found joy in going with her to help in taking care of her patients needs. As my mom has gotten too old to care for others now, I find myself having to do more and more to help her. I wouldn’t be who I am if it weren’t for her, so it is my pleasure to care for my mom as she once cared for me. I am also a die hard Alabama football and Softball fan. Roll Tide!!
