New Vice President Announced

United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) is proud to announce that Jill Chenoweth will join the United Way staff as the new Vice President of Resource Development effective Monday, October 2, 2017.

Ms. Chenoweth has a long history of philanthropic service, having held leadership positions in local nonprofit organizations and academic institutions in our community. She most recently held the Director of Development position for UWSWA partner St. Mary’s Home for Children, a residential treatment program for abused, abandoned, and neglected children.

“Jill is a results driven professional who will bring a relentless focus on gaining the resources required to support United Way and our mission,” said UWSWA President & CEO Clifford Grimes. “She is an effective fundraiser with an ability to connect people and donors to causes that are important to them. Jill brings the skill set and experience needed to help our United Way meet and exceed our goals outlined in our 2021 Strategic Plan.”

Ms. Chenoweth graduated Magna cum Laude from Spring Hill College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. She has participated and provided leadership to numerous boards of directors. Currently, she serves as a member of Mobile United, the Junior League of Mobile, and South Alabama Coalition of Nonprofits.

“I look forward to working with the Southwest Alabama community to raise much needed funds for the UWSWA partner agencies, which provide lifesaving and life changing programs and services to the citizens of Southwest Alabama,” said Chenoweth. “I feel humbled and honored to be tasked with raising funds for those in need.”
