The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is one of the best tools we have to promote work and fight poverty, lifting about 6 million Americans out of poverty annually. Only those who work are eligible, and recipients use the EITC for reliable transportation to work, groceries, and quality childcare.
Americans who work full time should be able to make ends meet. The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a common sense tax break that helps workers who struggle to get by pay for the basics – like transportation to get to work and childcare. Ask Congress to expand the EITC for working Americans who are shut out from the credit and taxed into poverty.
