New Board Trustee Spotlight: Audra Harper
UWSWA welcomes Audra Harper to our Board of Trustees. Audra is the Operations Administrator at Harper Technologies, LLC. She works with operations, budgeting, financial analysis and contract management, all while finding time to serve her local community.
When asked why she accepted her invitation to the board, she replied, “I feel that the mission of the UWSWA directly aligns with my moral compass and who I strive to be as a citizen with a desire to serve her community. I also feel that my business experience and the compassion by which I govern myself can be used to help continue to move the organization forward. I am honored to be of service in whatever capacity is needed.”
Audra attended The University of West Florida where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Management and later enrolled in Bishop State Community College for her Associate Degree in Nursing.
While not at work, Audra enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, Natalie (6) and Erin (2). They love to travel and enjoy the coastal beaches where they go fishing, swimming, and spend quality time together.
What does leadership mean to you?
“I believe good leadership is evident when a person is not only able and willing to serve first and lead by example but also able to see the good in others and be bold enough to call out that good in order to grow the individual and the overall team. A good leader understands that mistakes fuel growth and are quick to offer grace to both themselves and others.”
What do you want Southwest Alabama to look like?
“I would love for Southwest Alabama to be a community where we, as professional citizens, are committed to serving the needs of the youth and less fortunate in our areas. We can’t individually do it all, but everyone has the ability to do something to make this area better than it was the day before.”
