United Way Day is a one-day fundraiser and awareness campaign for the United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) led by the retail and service industries. Vendors can feature their businesses while raising awareness and funds for the United Way and its 46 partner agencies. Vendor donations are based on a predetermined offer designed by the vendor in agreement with the UWSWA.
This is the fourth year for United Way Day. In 2020, the United Way Day vendors and their customers raised $25,800 though their special offers. This year, UWSWA hopes to recruit 48 United Way Day vendors to participate in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington Counties. A list of UWSWA United Way Day vendors is below.

Donating $5 for every customer they service on United Way Day.
Clarke County – Jackson
Hosting an in-store silent auction between August 3 – 7 to win a Kathy Whitinger Mardi Gras Print. Auction proceeds will be donated.
Callaghan’s Irish Social Club
Donating 10% of sales on United Way Day.
ellenjay will donate 10% of sales or $200, whichever is the greater amount, on United Way Day.
Firehouse Wine Bar and Shop
Offering a United Way Day Sparkling Sorbet Float for $7 in Lemon, Strawberry, or Raspberry Sorbet with Cava or Sparking Rose toppers. Donating $3 or each drink sold.
Food Champs will provide a donation bucket at each register and provide a table to ask for donations.
Heroes Sports Bar & Grille
Heroes is donating $100 for each location. They are also hosting a raffle for a $100 gift card on United Way Day for customers.
Mobile County – Downtown and West Mobile locations
Joe Bullard Automotive – INFINITI of Mobile, Jaguar Gulf Coast, Joe Bullard Acura, Joe Bullard Cadillac, Joe Bullard Ford, and Land Rover Gulf Coast
Donating $100 for each car sold and nd $10 from each service at INFINITI, Cadillac, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Acura on United Way Day.
Keith Kingan’s Classic Cars
Keith Kingan’s Classic Cars will donate $50 for every car sold on United Way Day
Mayo’s Barber Shop
Mayo’s will donate $0.50 per hair cut given on United Way Day.
McAleer’s Office Furniture Company
McAleer’s Furniture is donating 5% of sales on Friday, August 6th in their Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida locations.
Escambia County, Florida
Mobile County, Alabama
A Ride Day/Spin class and yoga for $15. Mission will match the class fees and donate 100% to United Way.
Rouses will provide tear cards for their customers to add a donation to their total purchase from August 16 through August 29, 2021
Sai’s Hair Studio
Sai’s will provide a donation jar at check out on United Way Day
Shoe Station (all 21 Southeast locations)
Shoe Station will donate $1 for every pair of shoe sold on United Way Day. They will also provide an opportunity for customers to donate when they check out.
Simply Sweet is donating $100 and providing a jar for customer donations at checkout.
Soul Caffeine Coffee House
Soul Caffeine will donate 20% of sales from United Way Day

The Learning Tree
The Learning Tree will donate the proceeds from their students’ lemonade stand
Wilson Dismukes Parts & Equipment
Wilson Dismukes will donate 1% of their gross sales on United Way Day. They will also provide an opportunity for their customers to add a donation to their tickets.

Donations to United Way Day will be used to fund 12 United Way internal programs and provide grants to 46 partner agencies that comprise the Community Safety-net.
On United Way Day 2020, United Way of Southwest Alabama raised $25,800 through participating vendors and their customers. Funds raised in other service areas were sent to the corresponding United Ways.
United Way Day is becoming Southwest Alabama’s largest one-day shopping & community fundraiser led by the Retail & Service Industries. Vendors can promote their businesses while raising awareness and funds for the United Way and its 46 partner agencies.
